Position Overview: The full-time Social Worker, with a minimum Bachelor of Social Work or a related mental health discipline, provides professional, client-centered addiction counselling services that integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches with the values of hope and belonging. The Social Worker supports individual, couples, families experiencing emotional, mental health, relational and life challenges related to addiction. Expected Compensation: Gross salary will be $32.00 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week. All payments are subject to the required statutory employee deductions. Key Responsibilities:
  • To address client challenges through a process of assessment, treatment and evaluation using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Respect and incorporate clients’ individual values, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and spiritual perspectives into counselling when requested by clients and appropriate to the therapeutic process.
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Support clients experiencing mental health, relational and life challenges due to addiction and other related mental health concerns.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with community partners, clergy, and other professionals to coordinate client care when appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing counselling or therapy services in a community, clinical, or social service setting.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Social Work, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Current registration is in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other appropriate therapeutic approaches.
  • Demonstrated understanding of diverse cultural, social, personal, and spiritual perspectives and their relevance to the counselling process.
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset (Mandarin/Cantonese).
Other Requirements:
  • A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and correspondent insurance.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of appropriate accreditation, professional references and a successful Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.

Position Overview: The Peer Support Specialist will focus to ensure that newcomer women, underserved visible minority women are provided empathetic, nonjudgmental support and connection to survivors currently navigating healing, advocacy, or recovery. This role is grounded in the belief that shared experience can be a powerful tool for healing. As a trusted peer and advocate, the Peer Support Specialist helps reduce isolation, build community, and foster resilience among newcomer women and underserved visible minority women. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to women’ empowerment, trauma-informed care, and equity. Expected Compensation: Gross salary will be $22.00 per hour based on 37.5. hours per week. All payments are subject to the required statutory employee deductions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one peer support and mentorship to women, offering emotional support, validation, and guidance informed by shared lived experience.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led support groups in collaboration with program staff.
  • Assist participants in navigating community resources, including referrals to counselling, legal services, housing, healthcare, and employment supports.
  • Participate in outreach, engagement, and community education activities as needed to reduce stigma and promote survivor-centered services.
  • Support the creation of a welcoming, inclusive, and healing environment within the program space.
  • Document participant interactions, service linkages, and group activities in accordance with confidentiality and organizational standards.
  • Attend regular supervision, training, and team meetings to build skills and ensure alignment with trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practice.

  • Provide individual, couple, family, and group counselling using evidence-based interventions grounded in Catholic values and principles where appropriate.
  • Integrate spirituality, and values into counselling based on client needs, preferences, and the therapeutic process.
  • Conduct client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans addressing mental health, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

Position Overview: The part-time receptionist is responsible for responding to client inquiries at Richmond Hill Welcome Centre. The incumbent in this position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, internal and external stakeholders, who require information or need support with their settlement. They play a key role in creating a welcoming environment, managing communication within an organization, providing administrative support, ensuring smooth front-desk operations and ensure that services are delivered smoothly and respectfully.   • As first point of contact greets in-person clients/visitors/volunteers, provide them with information on organization programs and services or direct them to appropriate departments.
  • Answer and direct telephone inquiries to appropriate people and provide general information to clients and the public.
  • Operate the main switchboard, screen and direct call to appropriate person/department.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth client intake and service delivery.
  • Assist with client inquiries regarding services, referrals, and resources, and schedules.
General Office Administration:
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming reception area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Position: Full-Time contract-Settlement Worker in Schools Location: Varies in York Region Report to: SWIS Manager Application Deadline: August 31, 2026 Contract end date: March 31, 2027
Expected Compensation: Gross salary will be $ 29.13 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week. All payments are subject to the required statutory employee deductions. Position Overview: The SWIS Worker Mandarin, Cantonese, South Asian (Tamil/ Hindi/ Urdu), provides support to newcomer students and their families, helping them navigate and integrate into the Canadian education system. The role includes working closely with schools, community organizations, and families to ensure the successful transition and settlement of immigrant and refugee students. Reporting to Manager, of Settlement Workers in Schools, you will work to provide front line services to our clients, solidify and strengthen our existing programs and work towards expanding our impact, so we are able to serve all newcomers in York Region public and catholic schools, aligned to our values. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct settlement services for newcomer students and their families. The services include information and referrals, interpretation and translation, advocacy and access to services, guidance and support and adjustment counselling.
  • Plans and organize newcomer orientation, group information sessions, community and family education workshops, and other settlement-related activities in collaboration with school staff.
  • Encourages and supports newcomer students and their families in participating in school
  • Identifies and assesses settlement needs of newcomer students and their families and links them with available community resources.
  • Participates in and contributes to school activities and case conferences.
  • Collaborate with school principals, guidance and ESL teachers and other designated people to integrate newcomer students and their families into the school system. Utilizes resources in the schools.
  • Collaborates with staff in other CCSYR programs, if necessary, to ensure that the client receives appropriate services.
  • Plans and implements summer programs and activities for newcomer families.
  • Prepares and submits statistics and reports of the outcomes. Contributes to resources development.
  • Participate in team meetings and agency staff meetings.
  • Follows risk management practices including Work from Home, and safety protocols when reporting to the schools and school boards.
  • Perform related duties as requested by the Program Manager and/or Program Coordinator.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of the settlement needs of immigrant and refugee families.
