For International Medical Graduates
Since 2010, we have been facilitating Networking and Study Groups for International Medical Graduates (IMGs). This specialized program is designed to cater to the unique needs of IMGs by fostering collaborative study environments, cultivating peer-to-peer support, promoting professional networking, and providing mentorship opportunities.
What We Offer:
At present, we run two online study groups four days a week, focusing on MCCQE1 (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination – Part 1) and NAC OSCE (National Assessment Collaboration Objective Structured Clinical Examination).
Success Stories:
Over the 2022-2023 period, the program has successfully served 437 IMGs, with over 70 physicians achieving success in their examinations. Notably, 10 IMGs secured residencies in various locations, while others eagerly await their matching results.
In the year 2023 alone, an impressive 50 participants from the IMG study groups demonstrated exceptional performance, successfully passing their respective examinations.

CCSYR provided invaluable guidance in my licensing journey, helping me pass the NAC OSCE and MCCQE1 exams and obtain my LMCC. Grateful for their support, I now give back by facilitating a NAC OSCE study group at CCSYR.

The IMG study group was the best I could find to prepare for the exams. It was motivational, informative, and supportive.
I would like to tell the new IMGs to keep attending this study group.

The IMG study group helped me take the very first steps to become a family/emergency doctor in Canada! I am one of the many physicians who started their journey in Canada with this study group.

I would like to thank the whole team for making my journey fruitful. With your help, I passed QE1 and NAC OSCE and that led me to get Licensed Clinical Assistant’s job in Manitoba and admission in the Medical Licensure Program for IMGs (MLPIMG).

I am recently working as a clinical fellow at the University of Toronto, while navigating my own Canadian licensing and credentials journey.
I have also got the Eligibility of License to work as a neurosurgeon from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The study group organized by CCSYR has been invaluable in supporting me throughout this journey.

I passed NAC OSCE and want to thank the entire team for the support you provided during the practice sessions.

The IMG program gave me not only the tools to succeed but also a sense of belonging and place for support. As a participant and later as a volunteer mentor, I achieved a level of success that I never thought was possible.

The knowledge and expertise of the tutors made a significant difference in my journey toward a successful CaRMS residency matching process. Your impact will be felt for years to come.

I cleared QE1 and NAC OSCE on the first try, achieving a commendable score. This journey demanded significant dedication, time, and resilience, and I attribute much of my success to our study group classes.

I’m currently enrolled in Postgraduate Year Two of Family Medicine Program at the University of Calgary. The study sessions for the IMGs have proved to be incredibly helpful toward achieving this success.

The study sessions for IMGs played a vital role during my NAC OSCE preparation. I got an opportunity to connect with colleagues, receive constructive feedback from facilitators, and enhance my learning.

I successfully passed my NAC exam in May 2023 with a superior rating. I attribute much of my success to the guidance provided by your tutoring classes for IMGs. Now, it’s time to give back to CCSYR in any capacity I can.

My volunteering experience in IMG study groups not only allowed me to pay forward but also significantly enhanced my teaching and leadership skills. I have successfully matched the Family Medicine residency program at the University of British Columbia in 2023, where I am currently continuing my medical training.

Every IMG has the potential to be a physician in Canada. The lively online platform for IMGs ignited our dream, gave us the direction, brought us together and led to successful preparation for the licensing exams.

I am grateful for the support you provided to help me pass MCCQE1 and NAC exam with high scores. Now, I am eager to help other IMGs prepare for their exams- through your study groups.

Thanks to your online preparatory study sessions for Medical Council of Canada’s Licensing exams, MCCQE1 and NAC OSCE, I successfully navigated my journey to Family Medicine residency program at McMaster University.

I matched the Family Medicine residency program at the University of Manitoba in CaRMS first iteration. This would not have been possible without your help!
