For International Medical Graduates
Since 2010, we have been facilitating Networking and Study Groups for International Medical Graduates (IMGs). This specialized program is designed to cater to the unique needs of IMGs by fostering collaborative study environments, cultivating peer-to-peer support, promoting professional networking, and providing mentorship opportunities.
What We Offer:
At present, we run two online study groups four days a week, focusing on MCCQE1 (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination – Part 1) and NAC OSCE (National Assessment Collaboration Objective Structured Clinical Examination).
Success Stories:
Over the 2022-2023 period, the program has successfully served 437 IMGs, with over 70 physicians achieving success in their examinations. Notably, 10 IMGs secured residencies in various locations, while others eagerly await their matching results.
In the year 2023 alone, an impressive 50 participants from the IMG study groups demonstrated exceptional performance, successfully passing their respective examinations.
My name is Dr. Mahmuda Yesmin. I am an international medical doctor from Bangladesh. Besides my medical degree from back home, I completed a master’s in Public health (MPH) from the University of Saskatchewan. I have several years of experience working as a licensed physician in Bangladesh. I joined Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCSYR) in 2021 to get guidance on studying for licensing exams and learn about the pathway to residency in Canada. I passed both Nac OSCE and MCCQE1, received Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), and I look forward to getting a residency match. I am grateful for the study groups of CCSYR and want to give back to the community, so I am facilitating a Nac OSCE study group at CCSYR. I am so thankful to CCSYR for their support.
I started my journey in Canada in 2020. After writing MCCQE1 exam a friend of mine told me about CCSYR and their efforts in helping IMG (International medical graduate). I joined CCSYR for the NAC Osce exam and passed it with excellent score in September 2022. Teachers and mentors at CCSYR played an immense role in my success. At the moment I am waiting for match results and meanwhile I am giving back to CCSYR and community by leading the NAC Osce classes. CCSYR has been a great community and support in all my journey.
