Hiring Fundraising Volunteers
CCSYR is a non-profit organization, and our vision is helping individuals, and their families thrive and grow in relationship with one another and within our community. Our aim is “reaching out to all”. CCSYR’s four core service streams include: counselling, settlement, employment, and community engagement. We are the sole settlement service provider across both school boards and libraries in York Region. Additionally, we are one of five lead agencies that operate the Welcome Centres in York Region.

Join Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCSYR) as a Fundraising Volunteer and help create lasting change in the lives of immigrant women and newcomer families in York Region. For over 43 years, CCSYR has been dedicated to empowering our community through counseling, settlement services, and leadership programs.
What You’ll Do:
- Secure sponsorships and partnerships for our signature events, including SHEvolution 2025, smaller donor campaigns, and local community events.
- Source vendors, donations, and venue discounts to support our fundraising goals.
- Sell event tickets and promote our initiatives within York Region communities.
- Represent CCSYR as the face of our organization at community events and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to donor campaigns, leveraging digital and in-person strategies.
What We’re Looking For:

Requirements:
- At least 1+ years of experience in fundraising and/or donor campaigning.
- Proven experience in networking and cold calling, both digitally and in-person, as well as at events.

Asset Skills (Not Required but Preferred):
- Knowledge of digital marketing for fundraising and donor campaign strategies.
- Experience with social media management to support fundraising initiatives.
- Skills in event planning and sales to boost outreach and impact.

Personal Qualities:
- Influencers and leaders with strong networks and an abundance mindset.
- Passion for giving back and empowering others.
- Confidence engaging with executives, business owners, and affluent donors.
- A team player who is also a self-starter with a strong focus on execution and delivering results.
