Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic across various platforms. You will be passionate about social media trends, possesses excellent communication skills, and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will have a passion for impact, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence and be comfortable with ambiguity. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and reach.
  • Create engaging and relevant content (visual and written) for various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including scheduling the social media calendar, posting content, responding to comments and messages, and engaging with followers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather content, stories, and updates to share on social media.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications to stay updated on best practices and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and influencer engagement to amplify our message and reach new audiences.
  • Stay informed about current events, news, and trends relevant to the settlement and family services sector, and incorporate them into social media content where appropriate.
  • Uphold CCS's mission, values, and brand guidelines in all social media activities.
  • Support the Marketing and Communications' day-to-day operations with administrative and coordination tasks.
What you need to succeed: Education/Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field. Experience:
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in social media marketing, preferably in the non-profit or social services sector.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to craft compelling content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Graphic design skills considered an asset.
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Understanding of Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism Frameworks is considered an Asset.
  • Aptitude for working effectively and sensitively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Comfort with technology and communication platforms.
  • Understanding and strict adherence to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multitask.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Events and Sponsorships Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various fundraising events and securing sponsorships to support the programs and services offered by CCSYR. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events such as galas, charity dinners, and community outreach events.
  • Develop and implement event timelines, budgets, and marketing plans to ensure successful execution of events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of event logistics including venue selection, catering, entertainment, décor, invitations, and audio-visual requirements.
  • Cultivate relationships with sponsors, donors, and community partners to secure financial support and in-kind donations for events.
  • Create sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to the needs and interests of potential sponsors.
  • Maintain accurate records of sponsorships, donations, and event expenses.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team to promote events through various channels including social media, email campaigns, and traditional media outlets.
  • Provide excellent customer service to sponsors, donors, and event attendees to ensure positive experiences and ongoing support.
  • Evaluate the success of events and sponsorships and provide recommendations for improvement.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in event planning, fundraising, sponsorship, or related role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative fundraising ideas and strategies.
  • Passion for the mission and values of CCSYR and a commitment to serving immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Effective cross-cultural communication skills and aptitude for working effectively and sensitively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Comfort with technology and communication platforms.
  • Understanding and strict adherence to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Comfort with facilitation, giving presentations and excellent public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of community services, immigration, settlement sector and the public education system is considered an Asset.

Position Overview:  As a Human Resource Generalist at, you will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of human resources to support the organization's mission and goals. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, payroll management, employee relations, performance management, and training coordination. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the implementation of the Human Resource Information System (Payworks).
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes: This includes creating job posts, conducting initial screens, arranging panel interviews with hiring managers, conducting reference checks, sending out offers to select candidates, and orienting new hires.
  • Collaborate with the Agency accountant to set up biweekly payroll and act as backup for payroll in the absence of the accountant.
  • Manage employee relations to drive forward the culture of the organization. Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution. Conduct investigations into employee complaints and grievances, providing fair and timely resolutions.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Organize employee recognition programs, events, and initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
  • Proactively implement the performance management system including goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching. Monitor performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement an annual training calendar to foster a culture of learning and development by coordinating training sessions and workshops.
  • Ensure all employee files are up-to-date and current. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits. Educate employees on available benefits and facilitate enrollment processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry best practices.
What you need to succeed:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced work environment. Experience in the non-profit sector or a settlement agency is an asset.
  • A degree or certificate in Human Resources. A HR designation or working towards a designation is an asset.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality while developing effective relationships within the organization.
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities.
