CCSYR offers a year-round income tax clinic through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).
This free service helps eligible newcomers, low-income individuals, and families file their taxes accurately and on time.
Our trained volunteers provide guidance, answer questions, and assist with completing tax forms to ensure clients receive all eligible benefits and credits.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Are you self-employed? If (NO) then you are eligible, if (YES) then you are not eligible for tax clinic service.
- Do you have a Social Insurance Number? If (YES) then you are eligible, (NO) please go to Service Canada and apply for SIN number before taking an appointment for tax clinic.
- What is your immigration status? Permanent Residents (PR), landed immigrants, refugees with a Social Insurance Number, work permits and international students are eligible for tax clinic service.
- Eligible applicants should be able to proved ID information, including: PR Card, UCI Number, Date of Birth.
- If you are earning single income, your income is below 35k a year
- If you are household income, your income is less than 45k a year
Required Documents:
- Permanent Resident (PR) card
- Did you work in 2023? If so, please bring your T4 slip
- If you have Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSB) or Social Assistance, please bring T5007 slip
- Must bring rental agreement if you are renting
