IT Help Desk Assistant

Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCSYR) is a non-profit social service agency providing programs and services to culturally diverse residents in York Region. CCSYR is seeking for an IT Help Desk Assistant responsible for providing technical support to agency’s stakeholders and this role will require travels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT assistance in person, via telephone, or via remote tools at multiple locations
  • Process procurement (purchasing for the agency) and inventory and maintain all office supplies
  • PC or workstation setup, user on/off boarding process, and workstation relocations
  • Install, administer and maintain Windows 10 /11, Office Suite and other software
  • Configure Outlooks client, OneDrive, Microsoft teams and other M365 apps
  • Provide support for laptops, desktops, printers, phone system and other peripherals
  • Resolving hardware, software related issues and virus/spyware removal
  • Access changes, application provisions, password reset, distribution list updates
  • Provide technical assistance for conference calls, virtual meetings and webinars
  • Installing hardware and software, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, security, integrity and performance
  • Provide training to use software and hardware
  • Responsible for inventory management of all IT assets
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science / Engineering, Computer Systems Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing technical support
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve complex computer problems
  • Proficient with Windows 10 & 11, PCs & Laptop hardware and LAN / WAN equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of M365 apps – Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft teams, word, excel etc.
  • General understanding of network devices; routers, switches, firewalls and access points
  • Knowledge of windows servers, Microsoft Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS & DHCP
  • Good understanding of Azure & Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications are assets
  • Experience with Avaya IP Office 500 phone system is an asset
  • Experience with InTune enrollment would be considered an asset
  • Strong work ethic with analytical & good communication skills
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and complete procurement and inventory
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check, valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and relevant insurance to visit multiple sites


Location: York Region

Job Type:  Full-time 37.5 hours per week Contract, ending March 31, 2023. (Possibility for renewal based on funding allocations)
